Privacy Policy

Barnstorm is a real-time online card battle game for Android and iPhone made by Softick Development ("Softick", "we", "us"). This policy explains which information the game and this website use, why we use it, who else sees it and what you can do about it.

The Short Version

  • You do not sign up. The game creates a game account for your device the first time it connects, without an email address, phone number or password.
  • Other players see your display name, level, trophies, arena, clan and decks, because that is how an online battle game works.
  • Clan chat messages are stored on our server, filtered for bad words and reviewed when someone reports them.
  • The game sends gameplay statistics and crash reports that are not linked to your name. You can switch them off in Settings at any time.
  • We do not sell personal information, and the game shows no ads.
  • You can delete your account at any time: right away in the game, or on our website if you no longer have the game.

Your Game Account

When the game first goes online, it signs in to our game server with an identifier calculated on your device: a one-way scrambled value made from the device's system identifier, not your advertising identifier. Our server then creates an account with a random account ID. We use this to save your progress on the server, keep it in sync and protect it against cheating. Your device also keeps a copy so you can look at your collection offline.

Your account holds what the game needs to work: your display name, level and experience, trophies and arena, your cards, card levels and decks, gold, gems and other in-game items, quest, pass and event progress, battle results and statistics, the clan you belong to, and the language your game is set to.

Display Name and Public Game Information

You choose your display name in the game (3 to 16 letters, numbers and simple symbols); please do not use your real full name or anything that identifies you. Your display name, level, trophies, best trophies, arena, clan name and badge, your current deck and general battle statistics are visible to other players: in battles, on leaderboards and the Top 100, on player profiles, in clans and in battle replays.

Battles and Replays

Online battles run on our battle server. To start and run a battle we process your account ID, display name, deck and card levels, and every move you make during the battle. We keep a compact recording of each battle (the starting setup and the moves, not a video) so you can watch it again in your Battle Log, so the best battles can appear in Barnstorm TV, and so we can check a result when cheating is suspected. We keep your most recent battles and delete older recordings automatically.

Clan members can watch a clanmate's friendly battle live. Battles shown in Barnstorm TV display the players' display names, levels, trophies, clans and decks.

Clans and Chat

If you join a clan, its members see your name, role, trophies, donations and activity, and the messages you write in clan chat. Messages are stored on our server so the clan can read its recent history. Words on our block list are replaced automatically. When a player reports a message, a copy of it, together with the names and account IDs of the sender and the reporter, is kept for our moderators to review. We may remove messages, clan names or descriptions and restrict accounts that break our Terms of Use.

Invites and Shared Links

  • Invite codes. Every player has an invite code. When a friend enters your code, we connect the two accounts: you see your friend's display name and their progress towards the invite rewards (such as their arena and number of battles), and both of you receive rewards. To stop reward farming we check account age, how many codes an account has used, and whether accounts were created on the same device.
  • Shared links. When you share an invite, a deck or a battle replay, the game creates a link to a public page on barnstorm.softick.dev. Anyone who has the link can open that page and see what it shows: your display name, level, trophies, arena and clan for an invite; the eight cards for a deck; and the names, levels, trophies, clans, decks and crowns of both players for a replay. A deck link contains only the list of cards. The apps you share through (for example WhatsApp, Telegram or X) handle the message under their own policies.

Gameplay Statistics and Crash Reports

To balance cards, find confusing moments and fix bugs, the game sends usage events to our server, for example: the game starting and how long a session lasts, tutorial steps, battles started and finished (mode, result, crowns, duration and deck), cards played, fusions and upgrades, caravans opened, shop visits and purchase attempts, quest and pass claims, clan actions (joining, leaving, donating, and that a chat message was sent, not its text), event entries, settings changes and errors. Each event carries a random install ID created by the game, a session ID, your account ID, the app version, the platform and the game's language. Events never contain your chat messages, contacts or location.

If the game crashes or hits an error, the report includes the error message, where in the game's code it happened and the last lines of the game's own log. These logs describe what the game was doing, not what you typed.

A notice tells you about this the first time you play. You can switch it off at any time in Settings → Share anonymous analytics. While it is off, the game sends no statistics or crash reports.

Purchases

Optional purchases are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store. Softick never receives your card details or billing address. The store sends the game a receipt with an order or transaction ID and the product bought; our server checks it with the store and adds the items to your account, and keeps a record of it to handle missing items and refunds. The store's privacy policy applies to the payment itself.

Advertising

Barnstorm shows no ads and contains no advertising or third-party tracking tools. If we ever add ads, we will update this policy, and ask for your consent where the law requires it, before that version is released.

Connection Data

Like any online service, our servers see the IP address your device connects from, along with the time and basic technical details of the request. We use them to connect you to battles, keep the service running, stop abuse and investigate problems, and we keep server logs only for a limited time. The Local tab of the Top 100 uses your game's language or region setting, not your location.

This Website and Support

barnstorm.softick.dev uses no advertising cookies and no third-party analytics. Our web server keeps standard access logs. If you write to us through the support form or by email, we receive your name, email address, device and message, and use them only to answer you. If you ask for account deletion on the website, we receive your in-game name, your invite code or Player ID, and your email address and message if you give them, and use them only to find and delete the account and to confirm it. Form messages are delivered to our inbox by our email provider.

Who Else Sees Your Information

We share information only as described here: other players see the public game information described above; Google and Apple process purchases; hosting and email providers process data for us under contract, only to provide their service; and we disclose information when the law requires it or to protect players and the game from fraud and abuse. These providers may be located outside your country. We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for advertising.

How Long We Keep It

We keep your account and game data while your account exists. Battle recordings beyond your recent battles are removed automatically. Reported chat messages are kept as long as needed to handle the report. Gameplay statistics are kept as long as they help us improve the game. Support messages are kept as long as needed to help you. When your account is deleted, we delete or anonymize the data linked to it, as described in the next section.

Deleting Your Account and Your Rights

You can delete your Barnstorm account in two ways:

  • In the game (right away): open Settings (the gear button on the main screen) → Account & privacy → Delete account, read what will be deleted, tap Continue, then hold the red button for 3 seconds. Our server deletes the account immediately, and this cannot be undone. The game then starts again as a new player.
  • On the web (within 30 days): if you no longer have the game, send the form at barnstorm.softick.dev/delete-account with your in-game name and your invite code or Player ID. We check that the details match an account, delete it within 30 days and, if you give us an email address, confirm by email.

Uninstalling the game removes the copy on your device but does not delete your account on our server.

What is deleted: your account and its link to your device; your display name; your progress, cards, decks and items; gold, gems and every other balance, including anything you bought (deleting an account is not a refund); your clan membership, clan chat messages and clan requests (a clan with only you in it is disbanded); your 2v2 party, invite code and block list; your battle log, saved replays, shared replay links and Barnstorm TV battles; your leaderboard entries; and the gameplay statistics and crash reports linked to your account.

What we keep: records of store purchases (order ID, product, date and a one-way hash of the purchase token) with the link to your account removed, for as long as tax and accounting rules require and so that a purchase can never be granted twice; copies of chat messages another player reported, with your name and ID removed, until the report is handled; a one-way hash of a device that redeemed an invite code, to prevent invite-reward abuse; and one server log line per deletion, without your name, IDs or device data. Clan system messages and Workshop credits then show "Deleted player". Other players' battle logs keep the name you used against them until those entries roll off (each log keeps the last 25 battles). Database backups roll over within 14 days. Google Play and the App Store keep their own records of your purchases.

To get a copy of the data we hold about you, or for any other data request, email [email protected] with the subject "Barnstorm data request", your display name and your invite code or Player ID. We may ask a question only the account owner can answer before acting, and we answer within 30 days.

Depending on where you live, you may also have the right to correct your data, object to or restrict how we use it, receive a copy in a portable format, withdraw consent, and complain to your local data protection authority. We will not treat you differently for using these rights.

Security

We limit access to player data to the people who run the game, protect our servers and databases with access controls, and the server checks every reward and battle result. No system is perfectly secure, so please do not put personal information in your display name or in chat.

Children

Barnstorm is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the higher age required in your country). If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

When the game starts using information in a new way, we will update this policy and the effective date above before that version is released, and tell players in the game when the change is important.
